A favourite silhouette in traditional-wear – the Kebaya Pesak.
This look features a translucent cotton-silk fabric with a thin gold line on the lapels of the kebaya, giving it a subtle touch of luxury.
Paired with a batik tulis knot-skirt, the batik motif looks at some intricate isen-isen motifs.
Isen-isen or isen means stuffing. If defined as a whole, isen- isen is an ornament that is used to fill the main motif pattern of batik. It could also be called a filling (or tiny filler motifs) that beautifies a batik cloth, making it attractive.
Isen-isen was employed to strongly enhance the main motif and the overall visual and technical sophistication of the batik cloth.
In this series, we bring to the front the intricacy of filler motifs to be the main motif of the batik.
There are 4 motifs to choose from to complete the look.
Each of these have different meanings – all related to living a life that is fulfilling.
